Below are the best optimum technical requirements for STAND BY.
Depending on your venue’s technical specifications some alterations to the rider can be negotiated.
Stage:
Stage area needs to be close to 30’ deep and 30’-40’ wide with some masked wing space required on either side, upstage only.
This could also be an exit to a space off stage on either side.
It would be preferable to have no legs as long as the side stage is reasonably tidy
Wooden floor, black. Some spring is preferred and Marley Dance floor could be an option
Upstage is left as a blank black wall or a black curtain.
Side walls dark
The set consists of:
SET pieces are provided by the company unless the engagement is performed overseas in which design elements and instructions will provided hosting venue to have constructed on site.
Props consist of:
PROPS provided and handled by the COMPANY
Audio:
Audio requirement is for stereo sound to Front of House with Sub-woofer and clear monitor send of the same audio to stage.
Playback through Q-Lab is preferred and all files are prepared for loading.
If the theatre does not have Q-lab Audio and Video – this can be rented at additional cost – the company can arrange this.
Lights:
Theatre specific plot will be supplied prior to arrival. (A generic optimal sample plot can be supplied immediately)
Rigging can be from flown electrics, fixed grid or catwalks.
Choice of fixtures will be adapted to specific needs and equipment of the theatre.
The design makes us of 1- 4 moving zoomable wash fixtures.
1 small hazer is required for use at the top of the show
Plot needs:

ETC ION control is preferred but other control options can be substituted.
4 moving zoomable color wash fixtures LED are used – Mac Aura zoom or similar – 4 is preferred if only 1 (minimum) is possible the design will need to be adapted and will require more fixtures and dimmers.
Miscellaneous:
Dressing room required for 7 cast members. 4 Female 3 Male
Small warm up space required before each performance – this can be the stage or an alternative space.
Facilities to clean up/wash props.
Floor to be mopped before each performance
Access to a clothes steamer and/or iron
Crew:
1 TD (stage manager) – tours with company.
1 Lighting operator – It is possible that the TD also operates lights or sound
1 Audio operator
Sufficient crew to lay and tape dance floor if used, hang, patch and focus all lights and set up audio within the time allotted in the theatre.
One crew member to help assemble set. (Set designer may tour with the production)
Sufficient crew for a timely strike/get out at the end of the run.
Travel Requirements:
For engagements within approximately 600 miles of Pittsburgh, the company will drive and will therefore need a reserved parking space for a MINIVAN sized vehicle.
For flying engagements, the presenter agrees to receive and store the freight in advance of the engagement.
For engagements outside of the USA most prop items will be brought by the company on their flights and will incur additional baggage costs.
The large set box and ramp would need to be constructed and painted at the theatre or a nearby construction location.
The rolling chair would be purchased at a local IKEA and the wheels brought by the company to be added at the theatre.
