CORNINGWORKS moves into the intimately sized Carnegie Stage for this
Special cabaret-style 15th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION EVENT. On display will be some of CORNINGWORKS’ imaginative props, striking costumes, and a video wall with excerpts from all 24 past works, (how many will you recall?)
The evening begins with a dinner, dessert & wine a stunning buffet (including vegan, vegetarian, & gluten-free dishes) spotlighting some of Pittsburgh’s top chefs including, among others: Jamilka Borges & Dianne DiStefano — LILLITH, Chaz — "Culinary Artist", Andrew Garbarino — GARBARINO's, Nikki Heckman — BISTRO TO GO, Roger Levine — Culinary Institute, Ricci Minelli — Brick 'n Mortar & Michele Savoia — DISH Osteria
The next course serves up an exclusive 1-time-only performance
featuring Beth Corning, CORNINGWORKS’ artistic director, choreographer, and performer, who brings nearly 50 years of professional experience to the stage. Corning will present 3 solos drawn from the 24 original full-evening works she’s created over this last decade and half in Pittsburgh - offering a unique “behind the curtain” peek at what really goes on before, during, and after the work hits the stage!
“This anniversary celebrates the 90+ artisans with whom I’ve had the honor of creating these 24 productions. It also recognizes the community that’s been built over these 15 years, an accomplishment I cherish more than words can ever express. This “not so quiet” evening is my continued pledge to continue building this community, and to excitedly keep creating and sharing this work with you all.”
— With love and much gratitude, Beth
With her signature insights and dry humor, Corning bares our human pathos via lush movement and surprising theatrical inventions, creating works known for their mature, nuanced, and socially aware approach to tackling provocative subject matter.
A (not so) Quiet Evening with Beth… is made possible in part with support from: CORNINGWORKS Board of Directors, The Heinz Endowments, Individual Donors, Off The Wall Charitable Trust, Opportunity Fund, PA Council on the Arts, The Pittsburgh Foundation & The Space Upstairs.
