Below are the best optimum technical requirements for REMAINS.
Depending on your venue's technical specifications, an alternative rider is available upon request
Stage:
Stage area needs to be close to 30’ deep and 30’-40’ wide with wing space required on either side.
It would be preferable to have no legs as long as the side stage is reasonably tidy – but they may be required.
Sprung floor and black Marley.
Upstage is left as a blank wall or a black curtain.
The set consists of:
A wall 8’ high and 14’ wide constructed of cardboard boxes of varying sizes
1 large packing cardboard (kitchen) box
2 wooden tables
1 Wooden chair
White table cloth
2 wine glasses
1 wine bottle
Props consist of:
1 small fire retardant plate with one 1/2" birthday candle lit and blown out in a protective situation on stage
Audio:
Audio requirement is for stereo sound to Front of House and clear monitor send of the same audio to stage.
Playback through Q-lab is preferred and all files are prepared for loading.
If CD playback is required please inform the TD ahead of time.
Video:
Video playback system and one projector.
Video playback is also set up for Q-lab.
If the theatre does not have Q-lab Audio and Video – this can be rented at additional cost – the company can arrange this.
The show as designed has 1 projector set on the floor at the front edge of the stage Just to SR of center, 5000-6000 lumen preferred. Standard zoom lens should provide be adequate coverage – please confirm with company TD. Black out shutter, internal or external is required.
The production does not tour with it’s own projectors or cables. It is preferred that the theatre provide the playback computer and the production will bring the formatted and programmed files to be loaded into the system. Details of this can be negotiated with the company.
Lights:
Plot supplied on request.
Rigging can be from flown electrics, fixed grid or catwalks.
Choice of fixtures will need to be adapted to specific needs of the theatre.
Plot needs:
4 booms on either side of stage, 86 lights, at least 80 x 1.2k or 2.4k dimmers. A mix of conventional and LED fixtures is possible. ETC ION control is preferred but other control options can be substituted. (In large spaces one moving light with shutters is used in the design (VL3500 or similar) but conventional lights can be substituted for this.
The light plot can be adapted to work with fewer lights and circuits if necessary. A preferred minimum is around 60 fixtures but it may be possible with as few as 40 depending on the venue.
Miscellaneous:
Dressing room required for one cast member.
Small warm up space required before each performance – this can be the stage or an alternative space.
Facilities to clean up/wash props at end of show.
Crew:
1 TD – tours with company.
1 Lighting operator – It is possible that the TD also operates lights
1 Audio/ video operator
Sufficient crew to lay and tape dance floor, set booms, hang, patch and focus all lights and set up projector and audio within the time allotted in the theatre.
One crew member to help assemble set.
Travel Requirements:
For engagements within approximately 600 miles of Pittsburgh, the company will drive and will therefore need a reserved parking space for a CAR/ MINIVAN/ SUV sized vehicle.
For flying engagements, the presenter agrees to receive and store the freight in advance of the engagement.
